LWB Tuscan - Flt Lt Ralph Taylor
Discussion
Seeing as we're talking elsewhere about LW010, I thought I'd ask a question about a former owner of LW004 in the UK.
According to the old log book, RDG Taylor bought the car in September 1972, from Peter Bull (a garage ?) in Winchester.
The addresses in the file is both for Bournemouth and also the Officers Mess at Boscombe Down.
In the file are some eye watering bills - in early 73, the engine was rebuilt ("full blueprint") by a GT40 expert (Ian Richardson), the bill includes two switches (@60p , but no other details for our Hazard switch king) and two reversing lamps, a Kenlow fan was also added. So I assume the car was campaigned, but where?
Although not on the log book, by 1976 the car was owned by Martin Bolsover and there is a bill from Mike Bigland for a service, new S/A and sorting out the electrics. Martin later (in a Pilbeam) became RAC Hillclimb champion and one of his Shelsley records stood for 25 years.
There are then some bills to a Mr Williamson, the car was then owned by Ed Stevens, who was well known in TVR circles.
So my question is who was Ralph Taylor?
