So what would tempt you out of your Corvette?
Discussion
I don't mean unlimited budgets or dream cars but rather IF you decided to change your current steed, what would be your choice?
My choice would certainly not be the C6 and if the new Z06 looks like the C6, it wouldn't be that either, 500bhp or not.
For me - and this is subject to the caveat that it would have to be reliable and not need an engine rebuild etc, it would have to be the TVR Sagaris. Ever since I first saw this car, the styling blew me away and this week's Autocar promises 400bhp in a car weighing 1100-1200kg. The back end has been tidied up as well, the weak point on the original. To me, it screams muscle car and in all the debacle that followed the C6 launch, I posted a pic of the Sagaris to illustrate how wimpy the C6 looks and even the Americans had to agree they'd get out of it's way in the rear view.
Affordabilty would be key and a massive improvement in reliability would have to be a given but style-wise, this should have been the model for the C6.

I would be tempted out of my ZR1 by a Z06, C5 one would be fine. And I'd be definetely tempted out of it by a new C6 Z06: I (and perhaps I'm in the minority here!) think that the new C6 is a good looking car, and looks better when it's moving than when it's still....
I've never been tempted by anything other than the Corvette: after all, more than a car, it's an icon.

There's a whole lot of ugly cars out there at the moment, especially in the "within reason" price bracket. I used to like 911s when I was younger but Porsche has really overdone the whole evolution bit as far as I'm concerned. Nothing short of the Maserati MC12 would tempt me out of my 'vette, but seeing as I simply don't have enough luck as far as the lottery is concerned then I know I'm not going to have one of those.
To be absolutely honest if I was going to replace the 'vette with something else it would probably be a DB7 from the early years of production - before it became covered in vulgar bulges.

a 2.8 INJECTION Capri would do
Seriously, I've put so much into my Z that I'll never see a return. Then again, it was never intended to be an investment, it was and is intended to be a keeper. That was a conscious decision.
But, as an alternate or stablemate, in this order:
Used Diablo (Countach and Diablo seem have always been stuck in my mind)
Used DB7
And strange though it may seem to some:
Used XKR (what a bod!)
I have to agree with VHR on this one. A long legged blond standing at the side of the road would tempt me out of the Vette
Having said that i would go for a C6. Fantastic looking car, great performance, no where near as common as a Volkswagen GT, sorry Porsche, and no where near the cost to buy or run of a Ferrari.
Perhaps a Noble?

Shagga, I followed a Noble last night up the A1 from Brent Cross.Nice looking car (to a point), didn't sound Ford based (but too quiet) but just having left the Executions Meet at the Ace Cafe after hearing three blown alky dragsters doing warm-ups in the car park and seeing some heavy street muscle I just know that absolutely nothing can replace the sound of a nice hot, big-inch cammy V8. Mind you the blonde at the side of the road would make me think (for a few seconds)
