Hi

I am in need of a very early rear bumper. The version which just goes across the rear of the car!

Beer tokens happly parted with for one which is in good condition.

Arguably the best style of the ribbed bumpers, I never liked the wrap-around versions (and they almost always look crooked anyway, even on the Maxell tape advert!).

The old bumpers metal all needs to be replaced, the rust has expaned so much that the front has blown, it could be repaired but at what cost I don't know.
But I know these rear bumpers are rare as it took a bit of a miracle and Stu to find the one in the pic which "Beacon" now has. But I may have to repair it if I can't find one!

I agree with Ian they do look the best, but I can see why the factory did the wrape around as it meant there are no visual caps, compared with the short one!

The wrap-around was probably due to people taking the corners of the shell off on walls etc.!

Hi Ian

That may be true but with the experience of trying to adjust the bumper on the car in the pic I am certain that was the case as the factory would have had to spend time adjusting it. They certainly did this on later models of car's Griff, Chim, and Cerbis etc, they did away with most of the panel caps on the doors and bonnets to save time and expense.

Hi Simon

Thanks for the post
But sorry that's not the type as it wraps round the side of the car!
