Door mirrors creaking

W212 2010. Door mirrors groan/creak when they fold in & out. Have sprayed into the pivot join with silicone spray but still does it.
Any ideas?

Software update (sounds weird i know). Assuming its the same system, my C63 went in for a door mirror software update last year to cure a noisy mirror issue I wasnt even aware of. All the update does is change the travel distance of the motor.

W212 2009 and I have the same 'problem'. I have had the car almost 5 years now and even though it was present during warranty, I never bothered to have it checked out.

The noise is intermittent and alternates between nearside and offside mirrors.

The noise is from the motor that drives the folding mechanism trying to fold the mirror in/out beyond the limit of its travel, if this makes sense.
Software "fix" as above will sort it.

Car is going in to the Mercedes specialist that supplied it 3 months ago on Wednesday. I will report back

The car went in last Wednesday and the creaking was completely cure, by the fitting of two new relays (under their used car warranty).
The specialist is Vikings of Canterbury. I am very impressed with them, their service is in a different league to the MB main dealer in the county town of Kent
