Ultima in Sheffield on Monday- hazards on?

anyone own the lovely yellow ultima that seemed to be having an issue on bank hol monday at lodge moor/crosspool area in Sheffield? hazards were on and it appeared to be limping back home. i was in the sunbeam lotus, hope you got back if you are on here.

Brave man that drives an Ultima through Sheffield. The roads there are cronicaly bad and at times my Land Rover Discovery struggled for ground clearance. The council must spend all the Council Tax on beer, their expenses and the Town Hall.

Hope he got home OK.

It was me unfortunately, first time out as a test drive, the car was ok but it has a temp map in it for Iva, I got 10 miles from home, gunned it and it went into limp mode!! I didn't realise at the time and came home in 3rd on idle revs!! It's due to be road mapped soon but I couldn't wait!!

Why have a temp map for iva? You can get through iva and still have a decent road map.

I know, it was just one of those times when, for various reasons, things got complicated, it's going to be rectified soon.

What engine set-up do you have?

Stock ls3, e67, lambda, factory ex and intake, c2 6 speed

We had similar symptoms with an LS7. Kept going into Limp Mode after full throttle was applied. Turned out to be a mis-match between Pedal TPS and Throttle Body TPS. At about 75% Pedal the TB was at WOT. Press the pedal any further and ECU said NO! There was a component change during 2008 which meant we had conflicting components.
May be worth a check as you never know how long components have been sat on a shelf somewhere.

I live in Cambridgeshire but my oldest son lives in Sheffield. Ironically I was there yesterday/this morning ticking a couple of my fairly lengthy 'box list' to do's.

If I ever end up in that part of the country on a Monday evening I will try to pop along.

give me a shout as we dont meet once a month routinely anymore but on the odd nice summer night its a decent spot for a pint of shandy.
