Up until the last few years, the method of getting an ‘MOT Certificate’ in Lux had become a nightmare for me
BUT
it transpires that, under the pressure of more vehicles requiring registration and tests, the authorities have decided to employ several Germans within their test stations.
Never was I so grateful for this than today when I thought I’d take Black Beauty up for her test and see what the first set of failures would be (You have two weeks to complete them and retest under our system).
Well, chatted to each of my five testers as best I could in German only to find that they love TVRs (pronounced as in the subject title) and let her through - with attention to several points requiring examination before the next annual test.
At one time, when the car was over ‘The Pit’, and I’d got out to chat with the engineer, he pointed out a leak “Looks like red Oil, could be the gearbox or the steering rack. Ah well, it’s a TVR so well within their normal limits.”
I couldn’t believe it. Now just gotta replace my stone-chipped windscreen and buckled front wheel.
Happy Boy

What a result, funny how the Germans like TVR as they are such a non German car.
Funny how the English like French Cars as they are such non English cars :-)Now they're fat and fugly.
Maybe it's the advertising gone awry. Bring back Nicole (or her daughter, lol) and I might reconsider

Sorry I don't get the French car thing either, can't think of one I would want except maybe an Alpine A110 or an A610.
My comment was not meant as an insult it is just that German built cars are very precise in their build, TVR's are somewhat different.

Paul,
you crossed my way in Bous the other day, good to see your Black Beauty is up and running. When I got my driving license in 97 I was living in Luxembourg and was already lusting for a Cerb, but everybody was telling me there was no way to get the paperwork right for an immatriculation. Then I saw you and your black cerb near the trainstation in Lux and all was good again, I knew it was possible.
Maybe we can meet for a blast at the end of summer when I have finished my refurb?
Cheers

Looking forward to it already. Black Beauty is up on the Axle-stands for a liquids-refresh at the moment

BUT
Just let me know where in Saarland you are and we would love to have a trip over to see your progress (and maybe crack open a beer
)Getting her through the "Agreation" just requires an inexhaustible supply of tenacity which is a prerequisite for Cerb ownership anyway.
