Hi. I'm in the market for a well looked after Can Am and wondered whether anyone out there was contemplating selling theirs? I've always wanted one and am now in a position to get one. I know there are two for sale in the classifieds, but wanted to see if there were any more out there to potentially choose from - equally happy though to wait for the right one to come up. I not after a mad, bonkers, big bhp one as I'm a newbie to Ultima and don't have the time (or enough knowledge) to spend weekends in the garage continually working on it!
Also, what sort of life expectancy/mileage would you expect from a tuned early 5.7 before a rebuild again?
BTW, I'm down in Hampshire, but happy to travel some distance if the car seems right.

I'd expect reasonable lifespans from these V8's. I wouldn't think you'd need a rebuild for a good 100,000km or more. These arn't engines that are on a knife edge.

If you've not got the enthusiasm, experience, skill or time to spend continually fettling with a tuned SBC I would suggest you go for a more 'stock' motor with hydraulic followers, furl injection and sensible power! Best of luck to you in finding your dream car.
Trevor.
