When are PS3 games coming to PS4
Discussion
Hi guys,
I have had a PS4 since they came out, and only have 3 games, Fifa, Assassins Creed and Need for Speed.
I used to be a bit of a gamer, but now don't have the time and only play fifa on odd occasions.
Just curious for those who keep up to date with this, when are we getting this "cloud" based thing to play old games.
I've had a real want to play Skyrim again, but sold my Xbox 360 and all the games when I got a PS4

Bit off topic, but I had the Xbox and PS2, the 360 and PS3 and I ditched the PS twice, mainly because of the controllers (they were cheap crap compared to the Xbox ones, both ergonomically and in terms of durability/quality, to put it mildly).
Coming from a 360, how are you finding the PS4 controllers? What were your thoughts on the PS3/X360 controllers?

Well I was always playstation (had a one and two).
I only got a 360 because I didn't want to wait for a PS3. When they did come out, I already had tons of 360 games so didn't bother with one.
I personally found the 360 controller really nice. I bought a wired controller without the massive battery pack and that was brilliant. Fitted perfectly. I found PS3 controllers to small.
I quite like the PS4 ones, no complaints. No idea why theres a share button or a touch pad though, but general ergonomics are good. Not held a 360 controller in ages so hard to compare

I've read that they both invested heavily in R&D for the controllers, so if the PS controller is on par I might go for the PS again.
For me it started with the PS2, somehow I managed to have 3 controllers not working on it (analog stick, totally unresponsive, one button,...), which in the end prompted me to get an Xbox (as the cost of a second hand one wasn't that much more than two new PS controllers). The original controllers were huge, but the second-gen controllers were a revelation. I've never managed to break any of the controllers on the Xbox nor on the X360, and on top of that they don't feel as slippery or as small.
I've played with the Xbox one (MS stand in a mall) and the controller doesn't feel "all new", but in my book that's a good thing as I'm a very big fan of the Xbox controller. I've yet to play with a PS4 to check out the controller.
As for the touchpad & share button, well, it's a sign of the time I guess, they have to do something new. The voice control on the XBONE is in a similar slot for me

I'm used to the Sony controller having had a 1, 2, 3 and a 4. The PS3 which I use downstairs is on it's 3rd controller though, they don't seem to last well. My son has the PS4 in his room and I've tried to play Ghosts on it but it didn't go well. Not sure if you can change to the classic setup but everytime I wanted to aim and shoot, I dropped an IED instead! Why did they change the default buttons around? As for the 360 controller, I've only used them at mates houses and I didn't gel with them at all. Maybe that's because I've never owned the Xbox and I just need to get used to them more?Coming from a 360, how are you finding the PS4 controllers? I’ve had all PS and XB apart from xbone, and the ps4 controller is the best of the bunch. PS3 was a little small, but ok xb360 was near perfection and the ps4 is not a perfect size.
Wait...The X360 controller was "near perfection"
The PS4 controller is "not a perfect size".
the PS4 controller is the best of the bunch.

They are testing it in the US at the moment. There are/were serious question marks over whether or not Europe's internet infrastructure would be fast enough to cope with Playstation Now though. A lot of it is going to depend on the latency, which will mean your distance from the nearest server will play a big part.
The biggest issue for me is going to be how they price it. I had hoped for a Netflix style 'all you can eat' subscription approach, however some leaks over the last few weeks seem to suggest that it is going to be a 'per game' rental approach. Personally, I think that as soon as we start getting a good run of 'next gen' games, which should be starting soon, then I won't care about revisiting PS3 games at all.

I assume (and hope I am right) that the PS3 games offered will be "PS4'd" so will actually look better etc.
And I am hoping they will be about £5 or so.. Not a lot of point paying loads of money for them.
I can't see them looking any better. If they did they'd sell them as PS4 games as per Tomb Raider and The Last of Us. And I am hoping they will be about £5 or so.. Not a lot of point paying loads of money for them.

I wouldn't hold your breathe. And I am hoping they will be about £5 or so.. Not a lot of point paying loads of money for them.
The cheapest will be like £20 I bet.

The xbone controller is a joy to use. nice size and vibrating triggers. Edited by GarryDK on Friday 9th May 12:40

I found the XB1 vibrating triggers horrible, I only played Forza so a shooter might be better but it was just constantly vibrating and it's a really light phone vibration type rather than the proper rumble motors, which is understandable due to size but still, not for me at first, might be something you'd get used to though, or maybe turn it off if possible in some games?
