hi all,i am looking for a bit of advice,i have just installed a new cam,tappets etc.on start up engine was fine ,nice and smooth no knocks,let it run till warmed up no probs,took it for a short run,and it developed a light tapping,oil pressure same as before,didn't rattle before,does anyone have any ideas (poss common probs)before i tear it back down.camkit came from tvrpower.cheers

Was a direct replacement,should i bed it in , what is the procedure for this ?

The special cam lube described is normally included with any 'cam kit'.
'Flat tappets' refers to all hydraulic or solid (mechanical) lifters; i.e. anything other than roller lifters.
I suspect most people don't use the graphite spray mentioned.
Quite a few builders/enthusiasts will tell you to run the engine between 2500 and 3000 for the break in rather than 2000-2500 rpm in the video.
There are oils that contain zinc readily available, but you often have to order them rather than just pop into Halfrauds.

Finally, you can do all of that and still end up with a failure.
It's rare but it happens, so as he suggests, it's always a good idea to check afterwards.
