Sagaris for hire
Discussion
We've recently set up a sports car hire business in the Midlands, with reliable Caterham-Jaguar-Porsche... even a Nissan GT-R.
As a lifelong TVR enthusiast, I'd love to offer customers a Sagaris too, but know it would take a LOT more tlc/time to keep it 100% perfect for hire, judging by my T350.
So my burning question is, do you think there are enough people outside our TVR enthusiasts who'd hire it, and take some care of it? We do a thorough handover, and they all have trackers & dataloggers to allow fun but discourage abuse.
What do TVR PHers think?

Difficult to say. There are only a few places that hire out Sags and there does
seem to be a fair bit of interest in the car generated by racing games. People
wanting to use them for wedding days etc.
Hmm, not sure if enough interest to keep it as a goer though.
You could try one for a year or so then sell it if it doesn't carry its weigh.
They are holding their money well so it is not like you would lose a lot on such
an option.

Yes pretty much mirrors my thoughts Alex. They aren't in the public consciousness now, but if seen certainly have the 'wow I like that' factor. Perhaps we feature it on our PR / links first and see what level of genuine interest. seem to be a fair bit of interest in the car generated by racing games. People

Difficult to say. The company in the SW, sometimes mentioned on here, has a Tuscan for hire, I believe.
As Alex says, Sagaris' values are holding up very well, so even if after a year it wasn't making much in revenue, you could sell, with zero or very small capital loss.
Think the tracker and data logging gear is essential.

One of the reasons 'we' like them is their lack of safety nets and nannying - no ABS, TC, airbags, etc.
Not sure joe public really understands what that really means today.
Would have to agree with this, insurance could be a real problem as many companies want proof of experience with similar performance rear wheel drive motors before they will entertain. Not sure joe public really understands what that really means today.
Would probably be a very high risk providing a car with the Sags performance to people who have been brought up on a diet of traction control, stability control and ABS.
There is a roundabout near us with a petrol station on one of the exits and most times when it rains there is a car in the armco on the exit where even with all the driver aids they have just floored it and lost control.
Thanks guys, useful feedback so far, and good to see some interest though I appreciate this is a real petrolhead site, not gen public. From response at a few local transport shows recently, I'd think Joe Public would love the looks but eventually head for our less scary options.
I could always take them up the road in the T350 first which might happen to have a little low-speed oversteer to sway them one way or another
We could get STR8SIX to fit a good TC unit which would help, as I'd want them to do their very thorough check-through anyway.

Mates rates for PHers?
Absolutely.
Be rude not to. For anyone really used to TVR's, I guess my 4.3 T350 is available now - I can just put it on day insurance.
