After years of joking, Julie has finally booked a flight for her and the kids, and for me to travel to South of France, collecting the family from the Airport.

Excited ! smile

I have two days to travel from Zeebrugge to Montpellier.

Routes guys!? Got a cracking car to do it in, and seems a real waste to just sit on endless Autoroutes. I would like to take in the Millau bridge, but any other suggestions would really be appreciated smile

Look forward to input !

Stevie

If you go to the Milau Bridge don't just drive over it, it's much like a lot of big bridges in that respect, get off the road before it and have a drive down under it. You'll get a much better perceptive of this amazing structure looking up at it.

This-far better to drive through the town of Millau. I've just come back from there having done it twice-PM me if you want and I'll give you some pointers. It's one of my favourite places on earth.

I do this every year. We have a house down near where you're going. I send the family down on a flight and meet them there.

We're doing it again this year with friends. Him in his '73 Carrera and me in the E12 M535i. Collecting families from Montp, couple of weeks of sun, then putting them all back on the plane and driving up. Our route back (from near FR/ES border) is going to be Pau (doing skids), Circuit de Remparts (doing skids) and up to LeMans Bugatti circuit (doing skids) - should be a good run home!

we went over the bridge just after it opened by accident on our way down to spain absolutely magnificent and will go back one day and look up at it from below as suggested .
The other place I would want to go is Clermont-Ferrand it hosted one of the very first Grand Prix in the veteran era and post war developed a circuit which hosted Grand Prix until the late 1960s. I remember driving past and wishing we had planned a stopover very dramatic scenery with lots of old volcanos around it in the central massif.
