Evening all, a bit of advice and probably some reassurance required, if able.

I have been offered a job by a firm, for the second time - they made the original offer back in January which I declined, mainly for financial reasons, they got back in touch with the recruitment/employment firm last week, asking if they would contact me specifically regarding a role they now have available, quite different from the first position they offered but still within my remit and skill set.

Out of interest I accepted their invitation to an informal chat, they are a small company and it was a down to earth affair and the job available really did interest me - I am defiantly tempted by what they have offered, the money is less than what I earn now, but still good and there are other benefits that aren't financially biased which interest me.

My main concern is the size of the company its self, they aren't as large as my current employer who are a division of one of the ten largest firms in the world and their finances are a worry - they admitted in the interviews back in January that they were bankrupt in 2010, but they have turned things around after acquiring the backing of external parties (specifics weren't discussed), they have a modern work shop and a good office facility, and seem to be expanding well and taking on plenty of new contracts.

The crux of it is this - I am still worried about their finances, am I leaving a firm the size of my current employer and shooting myself in the foot? Is there anyway to find out just how solvent and "cash rich" a company is, or indeed, how good they are at paying their bills - maybe that'll reflect on their financial status as a whole? Basically I am just looking for closure, if possible, about their financial situation as it is niggling me a bit despite my interest in the role - is it possible to find this information out?

Sorry about the long winded post!

PM me their details and I can check their accounts, although if they're small they only file basic information at Companies House but it gives a guide.

Look them up on companies house website and purchase a few years of accounts data? Note that past performance does not guarantee future performance though wink

What accounts have they filed? You can see this on the companies house website. If they are basic filings then you won't see much. They may have audited accounts which will show some more info that you can use to build a picture of financial health at the point the accounts are valid for.
