When do you use them?
I'm changing the bushes and there wasn't any fitted originally. I'm using original bushes again.
Should I be fitting thrust washers? Or are they for the powerflex type bush only????
How will it effect geo set up with out them???

Later cars had thrust washers fitted I believe, I added thrust washers to my original metalastic bushes as the inner had started to creep forwards. It kept those bushes good for a couple of years till I replaced them.

Thrust washers arguably have 2 functions:
- to keep the bush centrally located so that it just pivots and restricts it sliding up/down the bolt (as the rubber is flexible)
- to prevent any galling of the bush edges on the chassis that would seize movement/ grind metal (kind of esoteric IMHO & can only visualize if bushes are really buggered)

TBH I've never really rationalized in my head the argument for flexible bushes over fixed pivot bearings as the compliance from the tyres (except the original Bridgestones hehe ) seems to make the bush flex like a drip in the ocean?
