Had to move my car off the ramp today to get Mikes on so I can sort out the niggles. So.. I fitted my new oil seal on the distributor and re-inserted into the block. Now I know you have to be careful with the position for the ignition timing, so I marked it all up before I took it out. Only thing is I did a stupid thing and turned the engine while the dizzy was out - doh! No problem, I'll just find tdc on No1 compression stroke, dial the dizzy to a rough position on No1 lead and all should be ok. But, I now have a 3 cylinder S3c as cylinders 4, 5 & 6 are not firing. There's a spark but, I assume no fuel or fuel at the right time. I'm a bit bewildered as I can't see what I've done wrong, must be something obvious though.
PS. I changed the oil seal as I had quite a flow of clean oil when I first filled the engine. After running it for a short while today, I still have the oil leak so I think its coming from behind/around the distributor area. Could it be the inlet manifold gasket?
Any help is much appreciated.. smile

The body-off bit is the easy part Barry. Body-on and the rest of it is where it gets a bit tricky... wink

Hi Terry, could you have disturbed some wiring?

The injectors fire in two banks of three, maybe one bank isn't getting any power?

I'm hoping it is something like that. I gave up to be honest to start concentrating on yours, plus the dizzy is coming out again so I can see where this oil is coming from.. I'll take a closer look then. Ta

Iirc Mark (white S3) tracked a similar issue to the earth on the throttle linkage, used to cut out one half of injectors and eventually traced to broken wire
