The price seems to have changed this morning and the description also now says it was previously stolen/recovered (I assume with a CAT D marker or similar).

It was on here I think with a smoking engine, then on eBay for about 4 hours before someone snapped it up then a week or two later it was back from this seller.

Seems to have a story behind it that is only getting told the longer it sits.

Doesn't mean it's a bad buy, just may need some proper history checks first.

I have been looking at this car also, I love the colouring and it's just down the road from me.
It's a cat d , stolen / recovered , as the advert says. The price has been going up and down recently,
Should it have any kind of form/paper work with it due to it being stolen? Not an area I've looked I to, I'm thinking stolen CatD is better than a crashed CatD ?
The owner was on the Facebook forum asking about blown head gaskets as it had gone, he then lifted the engine and repaired it and painted it up, looks good.
I did ask him about the cat status at this point on face book and he said someone drove down the side of it and that's why it's a CatD ( google cerbera 4.5 head gasket ), so I don't know 100%
I think in a previous advert the seller said it had very little service history also , but that he has gone over the entire car himself, he runs / owns a merc garage near to me.
Hpi check just says CatD total loss , nothing about being stolen?
I do like it though.

It's a lovely looking car, just a shame that it doesn't seem "honest". Cat D aside (whether it was smashed etc), things like the ad saying "The ecu looked abit turdy so replaced that too!" when his posting history reveals the car broke down on the motorway and it turned out to be the ECU, makes me wonder what else is being hidden.

Are there any ex owners on here that may be able to shed some light on the subject?
Yes I agree , a ' turdy' ecu is not a great way to describe it, ' upgraded' may have been better.

Guys, there is nothing fishy about it!
It's had tons of work done to it and really been sorted
From front to back. It 10 times better than one owned by some cash strapped
Office worker!

I only discovered it was a cat d recently my self and from checking what I could
I discovered it was because it got nicked and scuffed it all.

I really don't wanna sell it and still thinking of keeping it.
The cat d doesn't bother me with tvrs because the chassis and shell are too
Separate pieces , so only a cat c would worry me.

Come see it for your selfs , you'll be amazed !
Problem is trying to find a buying that understands cars and not some knobber
That is to scared to touch it coz he can't afford to put petrol in it

+1 Dan. Just sold mine 3 weeks back Complete engine rebuild by TVR garage 12,000 miles back included new Headsets All new Valves, all valve guides, all new Double springs, new oil pump internals, complete Clutch ,slave, Diff re built all engine ,G/box & diff mounts renewed. Nitron's,Short induction, bespoke chip matched to the car, not one sent in the post.

I had some complete berks ,from here, who as you say knew nothing at all about the cars. One in particular who went to a few other guys & pee'd them off too, he ended up buying a Bloody diesel BMW ???

In the end a guy came knew more about the Cerbera than most & bought it, there & then no messing at all!

Yours looks a really nice car, as for cat D big deal!

I've seen car's become Cat D as the bill for the hire car is mounting as the garage could not source the correct parts.
Cat D wont be structural & fibreglass cars are retouched all the time, no doubt a large percentage of car's here have been repaired & no one's any the wiser! Good Luck Dan.

I found a good way to help the buyer & save your self some grief Dan, is to take loads of recent pic's & a few video's & put them into photbucket & create a folder with there name on it pass word protected.

Send them the password & if need be prepared to go out & take some pic's at there request. Sounds like hassle but its better than having some plonker from Warwick ! !
