Car finished and back on the road but!

After 31/2 years finally finished my car and have it back on the road, with a bit of help from a friendly MOT garage.

I have to say a big thank you to all the guys here that answered my questions along the way saving me from hours of head scratching!

Hope I can get along to some events this year, but here is the BUT! Although the car runs it ticks over at about 1800 rpm when hot. I think I have pin pointed to the throttle pots because when I taken them off the throttle bodies shut on the return spring but when I reconnect the pots the springs can't return to the stop. These pots are at least 11 years old but will new ones have the same effect?
