Seams like it was a really good day for TVR at Silverstone well done to Bill Lancashire Quallied on pole finished 3rd .Don't know Bill but well done. Dave came in a really good 7th 41 seconds ahead of 8th cracking looking forward to your reaction to a big grid of Future classic's. Richard and James in the Griffith had a good steady race that they must have enjoyed 26th place is very good.

Really well done to all four of you clap

Thanks Perry - it was a good day. DC qualified 5th and James and I 17th of a 37 car grid. Bill had a clear lead in the race until the pit stop which he had not practised so lost out to a Porsche 928 and that Lotus Esprit! Dave was gunning it till he spun at Luffield - I have no idea why!!! My car was spewing oil from the breathers into the catch tank then onto the exhaust so James came in and lost a minute in the pits before finishing 22nd, but overall an excellent day's TVR performances - Bill will be doing most FC races in his immaculate Tuscan!

Oops you're right 26th, but would have been higher without the unscheduled pit-stop

Good day had by team Lancashire! It was great to meet Dave, Richard and James. Dad did well, just need to sort out pitstops! Was a little frustrating after the 4/5 second lead he had after lap 1! Not really a fortune, more our time than money went into it over the winter, the engine and drivetrain are essentially unchanged since we've had it. Just a refresh really. Looking forward to the next round!

I really enjoyed it today. Was a bit pissed off when I went off on the oil (cant imagine whos it was Richard wink ) as I had just took 4th place overall on the penultimate lap. Instead I lost 3 places and came 7th.. hey ho....

First time I had ever raced on R888's. They were "interesting" at first but I soon got used to them in the race.

It was a busy old grid with 45 cars but really enjoyable. I'll defo be doing more smile

Bill Lancs and Co are a really nice bunch and they have made a cracking job of completing the car. Hope they can get to do a few DETC rounds, they will fit right in smile

Managed to stay off the booze all weekend smile so it was weird doing qually sober wink

See you all at the Rock!!!!!!!!!

Shows the engine as a 4.8 in entry list, has that not changed? when I owned the car it was a 4.5.It looks like it was not the pitstop at 2.46 minutes that killed you but traffic mid race as you were 2 seconds a lap off car 79 for that middle section of race. That's not a bad pitstop time at all in a Tuscan.1.06 round the National in a Rover is really very good. Looks like a fast consistent drive. Was your car the black car I heard was at John Eales ? by all accounts a lovely car now, not that she wasn't a quick car in Andy's hands.

Well done , see you at brands also beer

just weighing up the competition wink
looking at the times we should be having a good battle at brands, although we did 102's last year at Silverstone, but conditions can make a huge difference and I will be on last years very worn 888's, really looking forward to a good few tvr's out in the cscc future classics,

I dought that mine or Bill's Tuscan will have the performance of yours Tim winkmine is a lowly 4.5 original and I did a best of 1.04 couple years back on slix. Who's going to touch you round brands not even the Ferrari or the 911 I suspect. I thought you were doing Modern classic's ?

don't worry 102's was on slicks my bad!! should all be pretty close, slick probably worth 2 sec round there same as brands in length, and remember I am a fat barstuard biggrin
changed my mind but might mix it up with both this season, as I need to be there the same day as mag 7's because of boss racing support

The engine was a 4.8 when we got it from Andy, I'm not sure of the history before then. Traffic most probably was the main culprit, but I think we can certainly speed up the pistop too. It didn't help that we didn't have a working speedo, so were being extra cautious with the pitlane speed limit! Yep, its the black car that was at Johns! We always knew it was a quick car when Andy had it, so we're pleased we're not too far off the pace! Lots to be pleased about going into Brands!

Hi Jimmy,
The 4.8 (JE) went in for Snett in I guess 2012?
Didnt get much of a run as I spun on some Caterham oil, the had my nose ripped off by a spinning Cerbera as I tried to move back up. Turned out we had a duff cam (from JE, but he didnt know mine was duff) so we were down on power for snett and Ring/Spa Oulton, with the engine jumping push rods. Cost me the Championship.
It had new cam, rods etc when your dad bought it. Loosened up now, It should make 390-400 AND rev beautifully!

DC, its not more powerful than yours, but it wont be far off by now.

It was last weekend mate, not by much but I couldn't keep up on the straights (I'm crap in the corners anyway wink ). I think I have a problem with the engine so I'm going to give it a good going over at the Rock on Friday. If it doesn't feel any better after race 2 its coming out and going to Ealsey. Its due a refresh anyway as I'm getting a tiny bit of oil coming out of the rear crank seal and it hasn't been apart for 3 years.

We'll see.....
