2003/04 SL600 (M275 5.5 V12) Questions...

Calling any SL600 owners, I'm interested in buying a 2003 / 2004 MY to satisfy my desire for a V12, and wondered if anyone in the South East of England had one they'd be prepared to show me or at least contact me with some info on ownership - delights and the perils!

I know it's a rare car but I'd love to hear from you if you've got one and wouldn't mind a chat about it.

Key areas of interest to me are what tends to go wrong / wear out & how costly is it to fix:

Servicing (main dealer only or DIY?)
Engine
Transmission
ABC / Suspension
Brakes
Electrics

...

Also, would buying a high mileage one be financial suicide?

Whereabout are you? I have one and am in Worthing, though the car is more often parked up at work near Gatwick. Happy to show you if convenient, or answer questions. I am reluctantly selling mine soon actually (taken some photos, havent quite motivated myself to place an ad!), though mine is slightly newer than you're looking for - 55 plate with widecreen nav.
