I know it's a subjective thing but if you were buying now or building again which of the standard gel coat colours would be your choice? I am really struggling between 3 colours as I approach body fitting/order and just wanted the thoughts of the forum? Not really worried about resale or if a certain colour holds value better etc just that not seen them all in the flesh at the same time.

Mine is Yellow but I would go Kawasaki Green if I were starting now.

You want something that people will see when you are on the road from a safety point of view.
So something in your face, it's also a great pose as well.
I would go for Kawasaki Green or Yellow.
If you see either in the flesh they really look stunning.

Great replies. I did not want to prompt colour choices but have now decided Kawasaki Green, the Mrs hates it so it must be the way forward!!

I'm quite surprised no one has mentioned red. That's what I was going to go for, but not sure now.

Fortunately the Ultima looks great in all the std colours, so it's really down to personal preferences. One thing I'd add, however, is that you might want to think about additional protection...

The gel-coat will chip quite easily, leaving your newly built P&J looking a little 2nd hand. My car has more chips on it's nose at less than 2,000 miles, than my RS does at 27K frown At the end of the build, I tried to find someone to apply a paint protection film to it, but there seem to be no patterns around. Jonny M was in the process of doing a kit, but as far as I'm aware, he's not ready with it yet.... are you done yet, Johnny?!

If anyone has any contacts at a paint protection outfit, it would be great to know if they're interested in making a template.

Yes and to be honest was set on black until I saw that and spent a long while trying to talk myself out of it, but can't so Kawasaki Green it is!! I do like all the colours if honest, but choosing colour has proved harder than the build!!

That's a valid point I would hate that after so few miles, hopefully by mid 2015 someone will have a contact/supplier
