My modified wheelchair wheels before I destroy them
Discussion
Hi people,
As some of you will know I been pimping my wheelchair up. Well as I've had people for years saying "Why don't you get some alloys?" I decided to try get some different wheels made. Unfortunately you can't buy different wheel designs so I decided yo have some made.
A company provided me with a standard set of wheelchair wheels, then another company sprayed them white, applied OZ Racing stickers the added a layer of lacquer. I think the finished article is amazing...

Unfortunately I did the wrong thing by asking OZ Racing permission to do this, but as they didn't reply I thought they must not have a problem. But once they were finished OZ have now emailed me today saying they can not allow me to use their logo so I must remove their logo.
So thought I'd share them with you before they are destroyed.

wtf, are O.Z demanding that you destroy the wheels or just cover the logo?
Either way it's a poor show and I think some emails addressed to them are in order so they can see the error of their ways, such bad PR for them to do something like this, it's not like they are losing out financially.

Destroy may be bit of an over exaggeration (sorry) as I'm a little emotional about this. They actually asked for me to remove the stickers, but as we have lacquered them is would mean totally stripping them and starting from scratch. When I picked these up from the body shop I were really happy and glad I'd eventually got some nice wheels instead of plain matt black
I don't think I can be bothered to go through all this again.
This is their exact statement
"We are sorry but we cannot allow the use of our logo on wheels that are not produced by our company. For this reason we have to ask you to remove the stickers from all wheels that are not OZ wheels!"

Usually I would just say "OK done" then leave them but the wheelchair is due to feature in Fast Car Magazine soon and I don't want to get in trouble by OZ.
BTW if a mod wants to change the thread title I understand as like I said I'm a little miffed off at the moment so probably didn't think that one through hahaha

Great job on the wheels!
Disappointed in OZ. In all seriousness, leave the wheels as they are because they would have to monumentally stupid to commit the kind of commercial suicide that would result in the bad publicity from taking any legal action against you. If they challenged me legally I'd challenge them to do better then I'll remove the stickers.
Alternatively, put a small "NOT" sticker next to the OZ logo.
