Thinking of a superleggera
Discussion
I'm really interested in a superleggera, 4wd, 200+, light weight, v10, All good points I'm looking to upgrade to. I'm currently driving a gt500 which is very fast but unruly, which is great when dry but not a all year round car. I'm selling the gt500 to upgrade to possibly a lambo. Would like to hear from people who have owned/still own rather gen one or two and what their experiences are. Even better if you have owned bothe fen one and two and can tell me the noticeable differences. Also would be nice to know about optional differences like ceramic brakes vs standard, different exhaust options too.
Cheers

Hey Nick,
Mine was the white Superleggera (Gen1) you lined up against at HYPERMAX. I've had the car 4 months and covered 2,000 miles so I'm by no means an expert but should be able to help you with some questions.
I absolutely love the car, coming from an R8 V8 then an AMV8V before that. The SL is so much more of an event every time you get in it and drive.
The suspension is firm but by no means terrible unless you are driving on a very poor surface. The brakes (carbon ceramic) take a bit of getting used to as there is not much feel in them when cold, however I have adapted to them and was thankful of them at Brunters when the other two Lambo drivers said they were reaching the limits of the standard brakes from 190+mph where I found the stopping power of the CCs were immense.
I love the interior on them, IMO the carbon buckets are so much better than the standard seats and I much prefer the alcantara and carbon look to the standard car's leather.
You won't need to change the exhaust unless you want to save a couple of KGs. The SL exhaust is louder and lighter than the standard car, it does still have the valve, but if you disconnect the vacuum pipe so it's open all the time you won't want for a louder exhaust.
I've had a few cars over the years where I've wanted to change bits on them as I thought they needed improving either visually or mechanically, but IMO the SL is perfect out the box and (hopefully) a future classic.
Cheers,

Yeah I went and saw it, looks nice but no service book which put me off it. Plus if I go for a lhd I could go to Europe for 10k less and a lot less miles. love Verdi Ithaca, all the bright colours tbh....

Not that colour really matters but personally I think the bright colours make the car stand out more, if you just want to drive why not get a BMW. For me getting a lambo should be an experience from behind the wheel and from the exterior look of the car too. But hey that's just the way I want it
<80k + a memorable drive home.
