Chaps,

Hoping an MOT tester sees this. One of the glow plugs has snapped off in my V6 diesel CLK, and the MOT is due.

Glow plug light extinguishes as normal before starting, but comes on again for 60 seconds a short while after idling, and then goes out again. This is the cars way of saying the glow plug is dead. I've hooked the car up to a mercedes star diagnostic which also says that glow plug one is dead (duh, it's not connected!).

Is this considered a fail on the MOT? Been trawling the official guides and it doesn't seem to suggest it is. The issue is is that i need to drill out the plug at some point, but not within a week of the MOT smile

Thanks!

I was a passenger in the back of a new merc in 2010 I noticed that the glow plug light kept coming on

It was -15 outsidei assumed it was something to do with that, never thought it could have been a fault
