Bottom rigid part of my oil cooler hose near the oil cooler has rusted and is leaking slightly,i bought one of these
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/331183985914?ssPageName=...
and i intend to fix this to my oil cooler, then clamp a flexable hose from this to another point on my oil cooler pipe which i intend to do this to

I'm sure i've used jubilee clips on oil cooler hoses before(300zx turbo i had)and it seemed fine.But lately i've read it's not a great idea??Any opinions?Car is a Fiat 20 valve turbo,pressure in lines is around 8-9 psi.Will jubilee clips hold??Thanks!

Very vague information.

Engine oil, trans cooler, PAS ?? What actually is it.

There are many ways to repair hoses, but it will depend on the damage. And use suitable hose clamps with suitable hose is one option.

But without knowing or seeing your specific problem...no way to tell.

I had a hose blow off a cooler which used 2 jubilee clips either end
I then had new hoses swaged on by Hydrahose
Minimum I would use now would be Mikalor clamps as oil pressure is around 6 bar (87psi)

Its an engine oil cooler. The part i was going to be replacing is horizontal and only about 15-20cm long.Where the repair section is situated it would be quite difficult for it to blow off as it's nowhere to go as each end will be held rigidly by the oil cooler, the other end will be rigid against engine bay.Its a Fiat 20 valve turbo and the hoses aren't made anymore.I'v even seen oil cooler kits for sale for universal use with push on ends coming out the oil cooler and jubilee clips for sale with it!!

If it's an engine oil cooler, you can bet it is more than 8-9psi.

There is no issue using suitable hose and good quality worm drive clips provided the metal hose you are pushing over is suitably barbed or flared at the end and strong enough to actually clamp the hose clip onto.

Personally I think those big heavy clamps usually referred to as Mikalor are crap. I'd never use them other than for an exhaust clamp or something.

They're maybe fine for huge big heavy industrial hose, but not small diameter or thinner hose found in automotive applications. And they're completely crap for boost hoses

The problem is with those clamps is that they don't provide equal pressure around the hose, they tend to nip from one side to the other.
Remove it and take it to a hydraulic hose specialist to be done properly, if it fails when you're on the motorway it will empty the sump pretty quick. Whilst it may not be worth much, it'll be a whole lot less with a broken engine.

I once bought a Coupe with an engine seized solid to fix up, it didn't take us long to find out what had happened:
