I've got the harry's one, but I find it almost impossible to use. Possibly because I can't fix it on the dash right under the windscreen as they suggest!

Does anyone have any simple, better iphone suggestions?

Not that I'd want to time any laps of course.

I have used RaceChrono on my Android, seems to work well enough.

What's the problem / how are you expecting changing the app to resolve?

I ask because the reason to put it in the windscreen is to give the GPS a decent view of the sky, and so the best chance for satellite reception. Using a different app won't change that one iota.

If on the other hand it's to do with the UI, then there's probably some benefit.

The problem is…I can't get it to work. I can't even work out HOW to get it to work. It seems very complicated, but then I'm probably stupid. To me a UI is a urinary infection.

Lol!

How exactly can't you work it?

Basically you just select the track you want and start driving. It should do everything elsesmile

It's incredibly accurate too - timing at the 'ring was withing 1/10th second timing by hand with a stopwatch and consistently accurate on UK tracks too. It doesn't all work faultlessly but I can't complain.

Did you know there's a forum for harrys lap timer? I've used to before and "Harry" responds pretty quicksmile

Sorry, User Interface.

It does look a bit bewildering, but does pretty much just work - I seem to recall there's a quickstart guide or something, been a while I confess.

Hmmm…that's what I thought. But it didn't. It didn't do anything. I'm going to persevere with it: I'll google the tutorial and start from there. Everyone else seems to be able to work.

It can't be completely beyond me like working the washing machine is.

I've picked up Harry's in the last month. It isn't obvious at first but it is literally idiot proof once set up.

HOWEVER. It does require the phone to be solidly attached to something, a bendy vibrating windscreen mount won't work (for the accelerometer at least).

Give it 20 mins practice and you'll be laughing.
