In ear monitoring systems?

Here's the problem:

I have tinnitus and play in a hard rock band with the typically high volumes involved. Using custom ear plugs with filters (with ear muffs on top in regearsal) blocks the sound but then you can't hear enough to sing in tune.

ACS Custom do some very good looking kit but for rehearsal there's no need to go wireless.

I was thinking small mixer receiving an aux out from the vocal channel on the desk and maybe a bit of mic'ed up guitar cab?

The T1 Live! with ambient processor from ACS looks great but maybe for rehearsal a single way system would suffice.

How do/would you connect yours?

I'd do as you are, everything through your main mixer, then anything you want to hear, take as an aux send into your own sub-mixer. Plug in ears direct into sub-mixer.

Job done.

I'm using ACS T1Lives. Everything goes to our FOH mixer, and I've got a Behringer P16 CAT5 system hooked onto the Direct Outs (but it could also "sniff" the insert).
This all then gets sent down a CAT5 cable to my personal mixer (along with each band-member's).

But as above, you can either Aux, Direct Out or "sniff" (at the expense of dynamics processing for the FOH) to a submixer. Plug your IEM's into this.
