Hi everyone,

Having a problem with Autoglass and hoping someone can help. While replacing my windscreen, the headlining wasn't put back properly (as shown in the photos below).

They've agreed to remove the windscreen and let me go in and glue the headlining before they refit the windscreen.

Has anyone done this before or have any bright ideas of the best way to do it?

It sounds a simple job to pull the leather over, clamp it and then glue it but im sure it's more difficult than it sounds. Most important thing is to have the edge of the lining behind the black border of the windscreen. Also thinking about how to keep the lining looking straight from inside the car and avoid any waves/ripples.

Thanks in advance,
Alex

The only thing I would say is use a proper industrial contact adhesive, designed for car interiors that will take the suns heat. Your bog standard Evo Stick and Bostick go soft when hot, as I found out as my redone interior unwrapped its self around me on the first hot day. furious

Surely they should be doing that not you? They should have the right tools/glue. If not they need to get someone who does.

Get them to pay to have it repaired at a trimmers, it really shouldnt be down to the customer to put right their mistake.
If you cant do that then have the screen removed, spray glue and then plenty of contact adhesive, clamp it and leave it for 24 hours. When you clamp it spread the load by putting a peice of folded card under each clamp foot.
This should do the trick.

This.

The headlining should never have been left like that. Very poor show.
