OK so for the purposes of this thread...

You are given £15k tax free

What would you do with it if you already have a half decent car?

Hookers ?
Travel ?
If like to drink - have lots ?

All of the above ?

Maybe buy a classic / car always desired?

Track/weekend toy?
Motorbike?
Or both.

Good suggestions.

Motorbike - been there and done that. I struggled to keep them upright.
Weekend car - Got a VX220
Classic - Had a Clio Williams
Hookers - I live in a town where the locals are cheaper than a hooker (in every way)

Set £10k aside to put toward a house deposit.

£5k would be spent fully restoring my MK2 golf including a new engine setup cool

Save it. Then build on it, get to the point where you've got a years salary to hand.

I'd buy premium bonds, much more exiting than the bank until the interest rates go up. smile

thats about the worst possible return you could get with your money, £175 a year on avg

not sure what I would do with it, the only new cars I want are stupid money like a GT3 or an R8 V10+

yes, my wifes excitement when she wins £25 is palpable, I try explaining that unless she wins a million or even 50 grand, it isn't really winning.

Invest some of it may be a possibility. I've been blessed with the ability to turn a profit from a car or two so maybe I'll have a project or two on the go.

15K? Spend it on petrol and hotel bills - it should last a couple of months.

Funnily enough a small endowment we took out on our first house matures next month, so we're getting just over 9 grand and honestly haven't a clue what to do with it.

There's nothing we particularly want or need and interest rates are poor, so I'm thinking about premium bonds too.

£2k on a suspension refresh for the 996. Holiday. Stick the rest in the pension.

Hookers and coke.

Or maybe give it to the wife to look after as we have a baby on the way.

Probably hookers and coke.

Visit my Dad, give him £3k, buy some golf gear, 4 tyres for the Amarok and a new fireplace for my cold house.

Any left over I'd give away.

I saved that up to buy a new car and ended up getting a lease deal on a golf R.
I'm probably going to use it as a deposit on a house then rent it out
