Hello guys,

Got a bit of a nasty periodic vibration around 70mph coming from the front. Inspected both front Spiders and looks like one of them has quite a nasty flat spot. I'm off to Spa this weekend (not tracking it, just spectating), I know it's a bit of an ask but I don't suppose anyone has a spare Spider they are looking to part with? I'm based in essex, but am happy to travel within a couple of hours to collect.

Any help much appreciated.

Would a repair not be an option? There are companies that will repair the flat spot and refurb the wheel usually in just a few hours.

I haven't got spiders, but I have the track tyres on mine at the mo, so you are welcome to borrow my fronts if you like. They are 18" SPs.

I have a front spider you can have foc.
I wouldn't say it's concourse but it looks to be round.
Woking/Guildford area.
If you want it let me know tonight so I can retrieve it from the loft smile

Here's a pic

Big thanks to everyone for the offers of help - very much appreciated!

I took both the wheels to a balancing specialist this morning and it would seem that the flat spot that I believed to be at the root of the problem is in fact not as serious an issue as I presumed.

The guy managed to balance both wheels successfully and he said that the severity of it should not be sufficient to distort how the tyre sits on the rim and contacts the road.

The wheels were out of balance when he first checked them and it would also appear that there are 3 flat spots on one of the tyres (no doubt a result from a track day I did a couple of weeks back).

So I got the wheels back on the car this evening and will take it out tomorrow morning to (hopefully) see a reduction in the vibration (although I guess it will take a few miles for the flat spots to work themselves out).

Thanks again for all your offers of help and suggestions.
