As in Peter? I'm sure the hookers in the Yorkshire area found him delightful.

Not overly. Found his video review of the Alfa 8c a joke, but everything else was has been pretty good.

I tend to just look for reviewers to tell me all the aspects of the car, so many seem to overlook really basic things like body roll, steering feel etc.

I've watched a few reviews recently and they've actually amounted to nothing more than sliding the car sideways, great, but he reveals little else!

You might be right if you've seen more than me, Ive seen a fair few (20 maybe?), but tend to just read the autocar online reviews and the Evo ones, Evo tends to be the one I go to, for vids as well.

His F1 GTR was good IIRC, as was the BAC mono.

Anyones you can link to that you thought were bad?

As I said his 8C one was dire, like a Clarkson rip off, fking awful (just like clarksons).

I find him embarrassing, not boring.

He's too bothered about how fast his car is compared to his friends.

Half of his videos are spent with him sliding the car and then saying, "And of course, it can do this..... all day long" (although that's true of most of the videos these days).

And he talks almost completely in motoring journalist cliches.

He's definitely better in print than on screen, no doubting his driving skills though.

watched his M4 vs C63 video and found it more interesting than usual. I used to like autocar but am not a huge fan now largely due to Steve Sutcliffe. Used to visit site a lot*. I think I got fed up of it becoming full of cliches and language I could not get on with. For example he always says motor instead of engine and that winds me up rotten. His comparisons and criticisim is so removed from anything that I could comprehend which is something EVO, CH, Xcar, motortrend etc videos seem to avoid and add personality.

  • The reason i enjoyed going to the autocar website was becuase the comments sections and forum had some good chat. A lot of it was trolling which was heavily modded but there were a lot of long term posters who had some good points. Autocar eventually closed down the forum to everyones protest. Anyone else remmber this?

He's the originator of that horrible phrase? So it pulls like a train does it? I.e. it makes a lot of noise and accelerates really slowly? Great.
