Sometimes I get lucky, in my time with TVR's I have never seen this available, but as an owner of a Vixen S3 and needing to replace my upright window channel (which has the lower profile than the rear channel and will not accept the rubber extrusion) this canvas runner has been remade by the local museum to kit out their vintage cars. A childhood friend, she is the head vehicle restorer, took on board what I said nearly 10 years ago, and we had lost contact numbers, but this week I made a phone call and hey presto!!

Hi Adrian,

I have only in the top channel a canvas profile.
In the uprights the "traditional" type, rubber with an soft skin.

Is the traditional type not working well? Or do you prefer the original type you have traced now?.
I have to order new parts for both windows.

The Profile of the alloy window changed over time and early car from the Grantura etc. do not have the depth to allow a rubber extrusion to fit, the upright channel on my Vixen is 9mm (and lots of the early cars are the same as is early M Series), the across and down has section has a depth of 15mm and the rubber extrusion fits as it was OE (unless of course there is a version with the lower profile that requires the canvas, I have about 15 frames here from different cars, that all appear to be as this).

I'd be interested in some of that unobtainium for my S1

What's the secret password to get some sent to Norway?

Hello,
This item is not solved for me.

I need new flock covered rubber window channels for my Vixen.
The frame has 2 dimensions 13 x 13 mm and 6 x 13 mm .
They are for sale in USA and AUS (caravanning) but not in Holland and the UK.
At least I cannot find them on the internet,

Some one has the info for me?.

Check those figures....the Vixen S3 is 13 x13 and 9 x13, on the OE cars (S2 Vixen through to 74 M are the same) the across and rear is in a black rubber/flock and the centre runner is in white beige canvas, which is the one that I have just sourced, and the flock is ex stock.
Adrian@
IF it is black that is required, why not order it in from where you have seen it.

Hi Adrian,

It is the smaller profile I cannot find.
Prefer to order all in one in regard to sending costs.

On Vixen and early M Series, the profile of the alloy frame is different on the centre upright in comparison to the back/top profile and although the measurement is as the rubber/flock is suggesting, there is a lip on the frame profile that stops ANY (that I have ever seen) rubber and flock from fitting properly.

Hi Adrian,
in your quote you do not come with a solution.
So where to obtain the profiles that fits "the best" ??
Even that the frame channel design lip stops the right fitting?
And should I look for 13 x 23 and 13 x 9 mm rubber or smaller/bigger?

Hi all,

I have used the canvas insert and it seams to be working fine and if I am not mistaken it came from Adrian. Thanks Adrian.

Its taking me a bit too long to complete my rebuild but that's my fault - time and distance issues but its going to be worth it I am sure.

Cheers
