Hi all,

A year ago yesterday I picked up my V12V, possibly one of the best days I've experienced so far!

Roll on a year and 5000 miles and it's just had its first service, I'm waiting for it to be returned this afternoon.

It passed with flying colours and no problems whatsoever, which is great news.

I have noticed however, that occasionally when engaging first gear (usually from stand-still), that there is a 'thud' sort of sound - I mentioned this to the garage to have a look at whilst servicing, but it didn't do it (conveniently) for them.

Has anyone else experienced a 'thud' when putting into first? Is it just a fairly normal sound due to the way the gears are engaging?

Thanks,

Matt

Hi Mark

I have the same car as you smile
Mine has no such thud in first gear, any idea from which area its coming from?

I don't have a thud when either selecting first gear or letting the clutch out to engage it. I feel your frustration when you take it to be looked at and it doesn't do it furious

Don't get me wrong, it doesn't do it all the time, but I have noticed it occasionally.. I wonder if it's something as stupid as me not dipping the clutch fully?

I will really listen out for it now and monitor when it happens. Car is still under manufacturers warranty which is a bit of peace of mind I suppose.

When it does do it, if I try to replicate straight away after, it won't. And I think it happens when in standstill, not when driving (not that you'd go into first much when driving!)

Maybe take up in the driveline around the propshaft? They all make weird noises in that area smile
