Can you add insurance NCD mid term after policy has started?
Discussion
I have just bought a used car but am still in the process of selling my current car so I need cover on both for a time.
My insurer don't do multi car so I am going to take a new policy with an alternate provider and run the two side by side until current car is sold and then cancel that policy.
Problem is I can only have my NCD on one policy at a time - if I leave it on my current car and insure the new car with no NCD can I then transfer it onto my new policy mid term once I have cancelled the old policy?
The difference between 0 NCD and 7 years is about £250 so it is worth doing - if I can! Temp cover for the new car is ~£250 for 28 days and I might not have sold my current car in 28 days so that isn't really a viable option.
I know I can ring lots of insurance companies but each one takes half an hour to go through all their questions etc and I would rather not spend the rest of the day repeating myself to 10 companies if someone here knows is this is possible to do or not.
Thanks
