Landwind. Do these cars actually exist?

There was a thread recently showing a car that looked remarkably like an Evoque, made in China supposedly and sold as such. I asked if this was actually the case but the thread dropped off the radar.

In Googling Landwind they have nothing like that on their website or the BMW X5 lookalike.

Is this an urban myth?
Planned for the future?
A prototype at a show?

Does anyone know the actual factual?

The latter - the Chinese aren't known for letting patent/copyright getting in the way of business (since most of it is state-run).

Having been to China, I can confirm that pretty much every vehicle on the road is a knock off. Apart from VWs. They are genuine. Although it was quite weird to see old Passats/Santanas and Jettas from the 80s wearing new noses and tails!

I wasn't thinking they might be doing it legally, more a sort of "backdoor" deal with less than honest employees who might sell certain tooling or blueprints of designs.

Reverse engineering is where its at, they have been doing it for decades and will continue to do so. Nobody can really stop them tbh.

It will be something like this:

JLR: "Landwind you are ripping off our designs, cease and desist or we will sure you"
Landwind: [blank look]...
JLR: "have it your way"
JLR: [serves Landwind with appropriate documents]
Landwind: [places the documents in the bin]
JLR: "We need you to sort out your companies, ripping our designs off" (to Chinese government).
Chinese Government: [blank look]
JLR: "we will sue"
Chinese Government:

Replace JLR with any ripped off manufacturer.
