Upgrade from Mavic CPX22?

I went from CXP22 to Fulcrum Racing 5's and noticed a difference all right. Lighter and livelier. Pretty red nipples 
which match Planet X's cheap Ti skewers for another -100g. Less than £200 all in iirc.
Planet X AL30s also worth considering, I also had a set of their older Model Bs which were very fast and light for £150

For commuting, what you have is perfect (assuming they aren't worn out). I wouldn't really want to use a nicer wheelset for getting from a to b, in the rain etc.
You could get a second wheelset for fun rides. Without a budget, or knowing your usage, it really is difficult to give a recommendation.

Shimano groupset and campag wheels is just wrong!

Top Tip - When on your push bike if you feel you're going a bit slow, instead of spending £400 on new wheels why not just peddle a it faster?

I am going to get the £400 wheels and let the tyres down, that way i can get the best of both worlds...HTH
I have found stock of the Campags at £270, so will push the button in the morning, been as its "only" £270 i will have to run a little more psi!!

I made the same move. The Fulcrum wheels are noticeably stiffer but feel much more efficient (hubs are lovely) and are just livelier. You won't go any faster but IMO the feel is really important. which match Planet X's cheap Ti skewers for another -100g. Less than £200 all in iirc.They have remained completely straight despite a few thousand miles and numerous pot holes.

Are the Fulcrums noticeabley stiffer laterally, torsionally or under radial load?They have remained completely straight despite a few thousand miles and numerous pot holes.
Or are you just talking out your Fulcrum?

Its more leisure than commute, the work run is a dry weather only affair, and i need to get back on the cycle club Sunday outings, so a little extra help is more than welcome!
