At my insured rate of 5000 miles a year, I'll be on over 56,000 miles in 10 years time! seems like quite a way off...

It's certainly your day today Matt.
First, the thought provoking THUD from your car, that appears to have most of us stumped.
Second, the intriguing question of which/whose V12V has done the most mileage.
Is that ever.......the most mileage ever,in the history of the World ?
I just don't know the answer. frown

Yep, i'm like London buses, no posts for weeks, then 2 in a few hours!

But, yes, the most miles ever, that any V12V has ever done (known of)

It would be interesting to know if the said high-mileage V12V has had many problems...

Well I did more than 10k in my first year and after le mans and a planned European trip, it won't be far off that by the end of my second year (I got the car in Jan 13) so I'm thinking what will it be like with 100k miles at 10 yrs old !

I seem to recall BR Mike saying at that kind of level (100k), engine rebuilds often required but I may be wrong

I sold my 2012 V12V at just over 15,000 miles. Sevenoaks Aston had a 2012 in their workshop with over 50K on the clock. They said they had never seen such high mileage on an Aston and it was still going like a steam train

I suppose this V12 is so under-tuned that it isn't really stressing itself too much, which should in theory lead to a longer life of less problems (hopefully!).

Let's hope the other parts of the car are equally under-stressed.

Yeah something along those lines - but as long as components are replaced as and when they are required, the whole engine will not require a 'rebuild' in the truest sense of the word for a long time after that. There are some good compnents in there and some money savers sadly frown

I belive Desmond Smail has/had a Vanquish with 150k+ miles, without the need for open heart surgery, so the V12 lump can do it.

Mines got 28k on the clock, all good though. Just a few rattles inside I need to locate.

If it's still under warranty, your dealer should sort them for you. I find the area around the sat nav and the centre fans to be problematic (the central console panel) - they can pack it underneath though.

20,600 on mine.
Major items sorted under warranty were squeaky clutch, replaced at 13k miles, corroded hubs which resulted in new disc and pads at 3 year service...
I have rattles too that local dealer never fully resolved...

She's not sadly, 2009. Got one of those third party jobbies but that won't cover much. The rattles are oddly around my right knee and the upper speakers so I'll have to dig around.

There's a chap on here who's an expert on taking vantage dashes apart. Have a search there's some very useful threads.

Mine had loads of them, even if you do have AM warranty some of them are simply "they all do that sir". The worst one I had turned out to be something to do with the battery (loose bracket or some such). Right knee could be the door I guess? There's a couple of bolts inside the door handle that like to fall off and rattle about, easy fix though, even I managed to do it.

Thanks, I'll have a scan. I've had every car I've ever owned in pieces at somepoint so I don't see why the AM should be different. At the minute I just turn the radio up or press the sports button and go quicker wink
