Brummie's Disks and Pad - Thumbs Up!
Discussion
Well, after some deliberation about going down the bell and rotor route, I finally decided to get my solid disks and CL pads from Brummie. I was never convinced the alloy bell and rotors would be suitable for road use, especially with anecdotal stories of warping which is probably due to holding on the brakes at traffic lights etc.
Needless to say, but I will anyway, this upgrade is fantastic. I would recommend it to anyone with a T-car. Bite, progressive action, shear stopping power, it is all there. All I did was paint the disks with high temperature paint to stop the inevitable corrosion around the edges. Sometime in July he should have his rear disk upgrade kit ready and I will be definitely getting that kit as well. Goodbye ruddy cross-drilled disks and good riddance!

Looks good - Are those the 330mm disks?
Do you know how much heavier they are than standard 304mm disks?
I am tempted, but I don't want the rear upgrade. The Tamora's rear-bias has annoyed me so I would just be happy to add lots of front stopping power.
I've fitted brummies pads front and rear. big performance increase from those alone, tempted on the discs too when the other money sapping stuff easesDo you know how much heavier they are than standard 304mm disks?

I have measured the weight from a worn 322mm Saggy disc to a new 330R disc and it was 500grms, i have not put a 304mm on the scales, i will when we put them into stock in a few weeks.Do you know how much heavier they are than standard 304mm disks?

any idea what the weight of a std disc is? 500g doesn't sound much as a % of the weight of a std discAt the risk of opening myself up to cries of; "Pshoee. Niave! Brake-disc virgin!" what are the issues with the standard discs?
I need to get some front discs (and pads) in the near future as mine have about 1.5mm of wear by the looks of the edge, so am in a position to be educated and convinced to take an upgrade route.
Ahh-thang-ewe.

There aren't any issues. The upgraded ones are much more responsive though just by the nature of the size etc.
OK, ta. Do they fit in a 16" rim? I have 18" Spiders for the road, I'm picking up some 16" ones just for track days.chris watton said:
I am not sure they would fit 16" wheels, or it may be very close- my wife's MGF Trophy 160 has 304mm front disks and 16" wheels, and they do fill the wheel - there's about 8mm between the calliper and inner rim.
If its a 16" spider they will not go, i did try a dummy run on these and they do not fit.I dont know if a 322mm will or not though?
When we have them i am willing to trial fit if we have any volunteers??

If the timing is right, as in I have the wheels and haven't had to change the discs already, I'll give it a go. I dont know if a 322mm will or not though?
