policecommissioner said:
Julia Mulligan and Dave Jones, North Yorkshire's Police and Crime Commissioner and Chief Constable, have road safety as one of their top priorities. More specifically, they are focussing on reducing the number of people who are killed or seriously injured on our roads, responding to community concerns, and promoting motorcycle safety. The general public have also made it clear that road safety is also one of their priorities.

Before they look to invest more in road safety, and to make sure the views of North Yorkshire residents are heard, we would like you to fill in the below survey. It should only take a few minutes, and your views are very important.

All the responses will be analysed, and will help inform the Commissioner and Chief Constable before they take any decisions. Thank you.

deliberately not a clickable link - why tell them that we're getting there from ph.

Done, although I don't actually live up there now but I visit my parents often and I know they are against this! Will forward it on to them too.

Filled in, but a lot of the answers to those questions are deliberately weighted in their favour no matter which one you choose.

Could that questionnaire be any more biased ? Especially the question that puts enforcement and education together as a single issue.

They did something similar with that questionnaire about the 60mph limit on the M1 in S Yorks for pollution reduction.

Eg.

At what times do you think the restriction would be best?

1. 6am-10am, 4pm-8pm
2. 6am-8pm
3. all hours

Where was option 4. don't fking want any restrictions! ??

£2.32 Million generated (This doesnt even include those who went to court and will have had to pay massive fines)

Done.

I read it as...

Here is a survey so we can say "The public demanded more camera vans".

Its an insult to our collective intelligence.

When they deploy the current fleet of vans, they have a choice.... Go to sites with a track record of accidents, or go to sites with a track record of "Safety" tax generation. Its so blatant now that they don't appear to even try to hide this.
