I have been thinking of buying a DB7 Vantage Volante for ages.
Could anyone please guide me as to what comes as standard and what options were available please?
Also is there anywhere I can get a car specific build specification from once I find the right car?
Many thanks,
Simon

I would assume that by contacting a dealer with the chassis number they should be able to confirm the complete build spec.

Stop thinking.......start buying wink

I don't have a definitive list but this might help with an idea of what was an option?

This is the original sales invoice for my car (I'm not the original owner), a 2001 DB7 Vantage Volante which, so I am lead to believe, had most of the options fitted at the time. It gained GT suspension, brakes, etc a year or two later at Works Service - that was an eye watering bill too!

You're such a pisshead Gouldy! laugh

OP, if you haven't already, contact Chiltern Aston and have a chat to one of the salesmen who I assume/hope are still Derek and Dominic. They know >everything< about the DB7, good and bad and, will give you some really honest and useful information. If you are going to buy one, that is where you need to go as well yes

I'd second that. Chilterns or Nicholas Mee would be my choices to talk to and buy from.

Either way, it is generally recommended you get the car inspected by an expert in the model before buying.

Please, for the love of god, focus on condition and history before anything else. I promise you, on a glorious day with the roof down, the last thing you'll be thinking about is wether the door mirrors fold in or not. Chiltern Aston are a great bunch and mine will be going there next month for its annual massage.

Even if you find a good one, be prepared to part with some cash although, they're not as much of a money pit as some make out........ But find a good one.

Mine's an auto, but suspect a manual would be so much more fun. But a tidy DB7 Volante in manual could be like looking for rocking horse st.

PM me if you'd like a chat.

L.D

P.S Lewis - Dom left Chiltern a while back, which is a shame.

Is there anyone at Aston Martin Heritage who can give me a detailed build spec on a car.
I have found one that may be of interest but my local Am dealer (HWM) can only give me the colour and trim not the full spec?

The Automotive Heritage Museum at Gaydon (not AML or the AMOC/Aston Martin Heritage) should be able to provide the build information.

Someone asked where he had gone to on the AMOC forum and he came back to say he'd moved to Stratstone Aston Martin in Amersham....
