Photography Update
Discussion
Hi Everyone,
The last time I posted my photo work on here was back in February. Well I've been doing a lot of hard work to try and fix the mistakes I made with the last lot of photos I showed. So I thought you guys might want to have a look. A link is below.

I think one thing I have learnt is not to have a lot of clutter in my photos. They should be neat and tidy. Plus adding photographing in different exposures is also a good idea when it comes to photographing stills. These are the things I'm still trying to achieve. But anyway, if you have any comments then please have your say. Like I said I honestly don't mind criticism.
Thanks!

I really like the first one - the Z4 (I'm guessing at Oulton Park?), the M Coupe and the Golf - as you say, they have simple plain backgrounds.
If you want some good crit, post a few (max 3) photos on here, rathe rthan a link, that way people are more likely to see them and if there is only a few, give detailed feedback.

Thanks for the feedback! Yes the Z4 photograph was taken at Oulton Park, during the GT. I take it you know it's the favourite corner for photographers haha. I just feel like those pictures stand out more than a lot of others I've taken in the past.
I agree with you that I should upload a few photos onto here rather than a link, but a lot of people have told me not to use Thumbsnap. So I'm not sure how to put the images on here.

Yup, a popular corner, my favourite motorsport image was taken from there:I agree with you that I should upload a few photos onto here rather than a link, but a lot of people have told me not to use Thumbsnap. So I'm not sure how to put the images on here.

It is dead easy to share photos once they are on Flickr - so you have already done the hard bit!
- Open up the picture you want to share
- Press the share button (square with an arrow coming out of it)
- Click BBCode
- Choose the size you want to share (640px longest side is a good option)
- Copy the code and paste it here, that will then link the viewer back to your Flickr page so they can see more of your work if they want

MASSIVE improvement!
One comment - cars' headlights are like human eyes, I know sometimes it may be difficult but I'd always try to get the front of the car instead of the back in photo either by moving myself or the car if possible. Of course sometimes the rear will work but IMO fronts generally make more appealing pictures.
I like the logo being much less in my face too

Really glad that you think they look better. I thought I'd ask for your opinion actually. Do you think using different exposures when taking a photo of a car will help make a good photograph?
Yeah I'm pretty pleased how the logo turned out.

Sorry, I find it quite hard to explain properly. I mean using exposure composition. WillAron said:
Exposure compensation is what I meant. Betting over :P
Exposure compensation doesnt mean your taking different exposures - its still just one shot just at a different exposure. What the actual exposure is will then be set according to the light conditions, your cameras metering characteristics and what metering mode you have set it too. It makes no difference in manual mode.Gassing Station | Photography & Video | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
