Just a thought, but I'd call my insurers rather than asking a bunch of bored PH'rs to play 'insurance quote lottery'. There are lots of variables - also there are temp cover websites, but not sure they even cover use abroad/younger drivers.

I'm not entirely certain you can add it to your policy, will likely be more the case that you get added as a named driver to his insurance policy.

A guess at the cost? Several hundred quid.
