Suggestions please

Hi,

Any suggestion of what could be causing a few problems with my 3r.

Going to be a nice weekend so yesterday I clean the car, attempted to take it out for a quick drive, battery light stayed on for a bit then went off ok, ( never done that before) new batery and alternator fitted 1 year ago.

Engine sound has changed, sounds retarded when accelerating from take off very little power in 1st gear, change to 2nd sometimes ok but some times not, can't really hear the turbo spooling up. It's had new plugs and coil packs 6 months ago, no evidence of water or damp around the electrics. Some backfiring going on occasionally too.

Also thanks for all the helpfull advice from here, I don't post much but read it everyday,

Water has got onto something. Try it in the morning and if still an issue then check around electrics for standing water.

It dies sounds like something has got wet !! You can buy a silicon electricle spray from Maplins I suggest you carefully remove each wireing loom plug and give it a spray . Bulkhead relays also .

Thanks chaps, been to maplins, seems better but low throttle seems to misfire a little, give it lots of gas and it's ok. Just drive fast I guess!
