Good evening all,

Does anybody know the original way to fix the spare tyre?
We do not like it to fly through the cabin.
Also the holiday bags needs to be tight down.

Of course I will find my own solution but I am curious for " as it was".

I searched for this topic and found only the Tuscan holder as shown by Andrew on 23 march.
But is this also correct for a Vixen?
And where is it attached to?
On his pic it looks asif is is bolted to the glasfiber bottom?

My S3 has a small flat steel plate with a threaded tube welded to it, and a long bolt to go through one of the wheel holes. Flat plate then bolts to the wooden piece/cover over the fuel tank. Looks original, but don't know for sure.

Top of bolt has curved strip welded to it, to hold the jack (with a rubber strap).

Thanks for the info.
So the wheel is position as far in the back as possible. I thought straight above the diff.
But again the fixing through the plywood, that is screwed to the fiber body, is not that strong (but strong enough??)

Yeah, on mine was originally on driver's side of car, not quite as far back as possible.

Yeah, probably not strong enough to stop wheel flying forwards in a crash.

Mine slides around a little, but I found having rubber mats around it (not under it) helps provide resistance to its movement. Need to also get a locking screw for the wheel eventually.
