Can anyone describe/show pics of how it is supposed to go together? (Dash trim and kickpanel) I am not sure mine has ever been right, and it is bugging me..

Thanks.. Unfortunately not.. I need to see how the bottom of the foot well looks and how that underdash and kick panel are installed.

Brilliant! Cheers!

How is the panel fixed to the kick panel? Or is it just held up by the wingnut on the left hand side?

There is a metal bracket and nut on the rhs of that panel. Mine used to hang down a bit (like the door of a glovebox) but the nut was missing. There should be a bolt sticking out of the carpet that the bracket attaches to, it's quite high up iirc.

Edit: the bolt sticks out of the leather of the centre console, not the carpet

On mine the leather part is held up at the back with a self tapper that is extremely difficult to refit in the appropriate place. Joolz showed me that you don't have to disturb it to remove the kick panel allowing access to the ECUs, you can just fold it out.

Hi Jhonno wavey

Sorry that I was a bit late to see this but here goes….

There are two attachment points for the horizontal(ish) leather-covered panel.
On the l.h.s. there is a thread, which sticks out through the carpet, from the left…

On the r.h.s. there is a plate into which you screw a countersunk screw and washer….

The angled eyelet is at the back, left of the panel here….

The countersunk screw is in the very r.h. edge of the panel here….

The ‘Kick’ panel has no permanent attachments. The bottom edge slots under the carpet and the top edge, seen here, just slips over the panel described above….

and….

Please excuse the blurred and over-exposed photography but I am currently quite pi$$ed.

Best of thumbup

Wonderfully illustrated, and I'm curious about that vent grill too.

I think the vent grill means that the car has had the hot air recirculation mod done. Its documented on the site somewhere, the hot air path in the wing is bunged up and this vent hole is then the intake for the hot air side. It prevents hot air being blown out the vents until the fan is switched on.

Mine just has a big hole in this location and not the neat vent cover.

That sounds far easier to implement than the Fiesta electrically operated heater valve, and somewhat more elegant than earplugs!

If anyone can provide a link to the mod I'd be very grateful.

PS I've just ordered some earplugs anyway

I thought it was there to provide ventilation to the ECU scratchchin
