poorly Mondeo any thoughts?
Discussion
we have a Mondeo 2l tdci which has been quite happily chewing miles up for the last couple of months without issue,
yesterday we had an issue with it cutting out with a engine malfunction warning. car started afterwards and seemed fine.
done this another couple of times so pulled the codes last night and it was showing a P0219 which is supposedly an engine overspeed issue.
i'm the only one driving the car for the last month and its never really had much in the way of hard use having spent the last couple of weeks trundling up and down the m6.
so anyway cleared the code and ran it again, same thing happened again. so to rule out one issue I changed both cam and crankshaft sensors this morning.
on to tonight and the bleeding thing cut out 3 times on a 50 mile run so decided to test a theory out and gave it an "Italian tuneup" on the way back, and the car never missed a beat.
its a 2010/11 2l tdci (so Peugeot engined) Mondeo with 150k on the clock. serviced on time with genuine parts and proper oil. the only thing I can think of is that I may have a clogged egr/inlet/swirlflaps which is causing the cutouts as it seems to run quite happily with cruise on /70mph and only seems to cut out and throw a wobbly when you slow down for roundabouts/junctions etc.
now had the car out again this morning and the EML went off for a bit then same problem as above again malfunction warning cutting out and eml back on
anyone care to offer some insight as I've asked on the ford forums and didn't get anywhere
