so I need to get a loan for a new fan, I thought I had the perfect credit rating ( never missed payments in the past etc etc never been refused a loan)

I applied for a quote from barclays which came back at a whopping 13% so I declined. I then ring up sainsburys finance and get declined, I was bloody gobsmacked.... have I damaged my credit rating by getting multiple quotes?

Check your credit rating

https://www.noddle.co.uk/

If Barclays are quoting 13% on a personal loan there must be something dodgy on your credit file.

You can also do a loan search on the Moneysupermarket website. If it only comes back with high interest loans you'll know for sure your credit file has something bad in it.

Are you registered on the Electoral Roll?

I got declined from Sainsbury's despite having an excellent credit raiting and no other debts. A Google search suggested I wasn't alone.

Have you tried Zopa?

What sort of amount are we talking? Small loans usual come with bigger APRs, fixed costs like documentation means they have to make a minimum amount per loan to be profitable.

It's Noddle, not Noodle.

Yes, they do require card details for ID purposes. I supplied mine and nothing has left the account if that's what you're thinking. They're part of a huge Credit Check agency a bit like Equifax (who by the way want your payment details so they can take a fee each month).

Still, a big of tinfoil hat paranoia us always healthy I suppose smile
