Anyone got a mk1 stereo fitting as my stereo just disappears in to the dash

I think so, got nothing at all behind dashboard just a big hole, I don't even know what the cage looks like as I've only had car 5 weeks.

The hole in mine was about 10 mm too big

You made the hole smaller ?, good idea, I think that is what I will have to do then. Only prob is that my veneer is in excellent condition.

You can get them at your local halfords for a tenner or ebay if you can wait for postage,for half that
