I'm in the middle of a claim against a van driver dating back to February, but that was complicated by a shoulder injury, to the point that his insurer recommended I get a solicitor involved. I initially tried to deal directly with them, but they wouldn't play ball. That was a roundabout smash too...

Gutted for you Dizeee, but as has already been said, at least you are relatively unhurt.
It looks like just wheel damage, I presume there is more if you think it's a right off.
On a happier note, I nearly started a thread last night calling you, as I finished a ride and struggled to get my jersey off in my default pull the collar over my head method. I was chuckling to myself thinking about that thread.

Glad you're OK hope you get the bike sorted fairly and swiftly.
My FiL had a similar accident on his carbon road bike a couple of weeks ago and sustained some nasty injuries, he's on the mend but it's looking like he's going to miss most of the season including some decent events we're entered in

Hope you are put back in the position your were this morning.
Just sue her in the small claims court if the insurance company start dicking around. Most importantly you are ok, bikes can (even subject to colour scheme) be replaced.
By the way De Rosa have some lovely new bikes out!

Get the witnesses to write down exactly what happened, in a format that they would be happy to see submitted with your claim.
The driver may have been apologetic etc at the scene, but give her 48 hours of friends and family (and, likely, the insurance company) telling her that "bloody cyclists, their own worst enemy, he probably went when it was your priority" and she'll have changed to "he came out of nowhere, it wasn't my fault".
Personally, I'd get a solicitor involved now- I've seen too many of these change from "yes, no worries here are my details" to "mate, it was never my fault".

I had to wait for 18 months for my payout, the other insurance would only go for 50/50 liability which left me in the position of potentially losing everything.
Very frustrating as my final settlement was what I was looking for in the beginning but it took 18 months of 'negotiations' and quite frankly a sham of personal injury to arrive at the final amount.
On the flip side; my mate was knocked off, bike written off and he claimed direct of their insurance and had money within days!
