Not camped in Blue Sud before ....

Have been to le mans around 20 times so not unused to all the fun and like the idea of not being far from all the petrol and my grandstand !!

Any advice for the site and pros and cons please chaps & hopefully chapesses .....

Thanks

Blue sud I loved first campsite I stayed at.... Only issue is there weren't any showers (May have changed) and there is a sewage pipe running from toilets to the road (you wouldn't want to camo next to it)

The facilities are awful Friday pm onwards as all people walking past them use them as we'll like Maison blanch

But location is brilliant and it has a peacefull woodland theme at the back

Myself and a mate camped in Blue Sud in 2011. It was super quiet when i was there with only the usual norwegian dance music late night. Has lavs but no showers; the nearest were inside the main gate of the track which was a 5 minute walk at the most. I think speed chills had the bottom end of it cordoned off when we were there, no idea if this is the norm.

Handy spot for going to and from track on race day to the main grandstands, also an excellent place to see some burnouts on mad friday with the road running right beside it. The only thing i will say is that peace and quiet is not an option on friday with the site being so small and close to the road, i didnt find it much of an issue - a gallon of kronenbourg saw me soundly to sleep.

All in all nice spot if you want to be close to the track and have a reasonably civilised place to lay your head.

We stay there.

Pros: Location. Quickly get back to camp. Light the BBQ. And get back to the race.

Cons: 3.14keys. Keep everything of value in your car. Six camping groups got our stuff rifled through last year. Security is a joke. It is on the main gate. But the 3.1keys just walk from the main road into the site. Immediately after the race - whole families of 3.14's descent on the site and will take anything.

Me my stayed there last year. Thought it was a good sight with friendly people.

Good warm showers which were also kept clean. Short distance to maison Blanche entrance for the circuit.

Cons: not fenced or very well secured.

We personally had no trouble except from my mate chatting up the female gate staff every morning.

All in all a good site IMO.

Adam

Exactly, re wet wipes. Stayed in BS last year (first time to LM) - one of our three wanted to use the showers, me and other friend just used wipes, far quicker etc have a proper shower when home.

Noticed that 3.14keys descended upon the site once the race was over, but like any sensible person, stuff of value was always in car boot.

New permanent fencing for Bleu Sud in 2014. So if the gate is well manned there should be security improvements.

But as all that is required for access is a general admission ticket, there is still a risk...so please 'think safe'.
