Hi all,

I'm still getting my car tidy after a couple of month of ownership.

What glue do I need for the interior trim coming loose (carpet bits).

Also which glue do I need for resticking the inside door rubber to the interior door frame as mine has come away in about a 6 inch strip.

Also should the footwell carpets be stuck down and if so what should I use. Mine are in 2 parts a padded underlay and a top carpet section.

Re gluing the rubber seals, the seal on the roof at the top of the window came away on mine last week, bought some 2-part (like epoxy) B&Q own brand "poly adhesive" which seems to have worked pretty well, also used it to stick the velcro back on behind the door button.

Don't glue the footwell mats. Makes getting the battery out a real pig for a start. Double sided tape if you must.

I think those two parts are supposed to be one! Mine are held in place by an integral velcro strip about two inches wide where it fits under the seats.

stick em together with evostick, works a treat, like the man says stick em to the floor and you'll have all sorts of hassle (drying out for instance)

Many thanks.

I'll get myself "glued up" at the weekend.

I'll glue the carpets together but not to the floor.

I found some spray glue in either B&Q or a car shop. Big aerosol can. Spray on both surfaces, leave for a few minutes, then stick together.

Dries to exactly the same consistency as the original glue, and sticks really well (for a few years, would be my guess...)

So what about sticking all those little bits of vynil/leather trim that eventually come adrift - like around the gear stick, and above the instruments?

I tried superglue, but it didn't work.
