Evening all

Currently drive a 500 hp CL600 twin turbo which i love. However, we now have a child amd a coupe is become a pain.....

Not much on the road to touch it in a straight line, certainly for under 20k

So.........

Im down to a short list of two cars:
m5
cls63

Had my first drive of a nice M5 yesterday. Engine seemed lovely especially above 5000rpm. Missing the torque i am used to but i like to work an engine. Ife read lots about the clutch/flywheel issues but this one appears good. SMG gearchange in manual seems pretty horrid though!
I like the looks, the pedegree and THAT V10 howl!

Then ive been looking at the CLS63. Again an amazing n/a engine and huge dollops of torque! I love the looks too. Seems a much nice gearbox thatn my CL which is not very involving. The 7 speed paddle shift seems quite responsive and the multi set up suspension is also fun

Both cars seems to be around 18k for a nice one (id consider CLS55 also. But prefer later cls 63

Anyone have experience of both?

Is the M5 more likely to give issues?

Its quite a big trade up (10k) so i dont want to face bills imminently

Thanks for your advice!

I wouldn't touch either without a warranty, but that's just me. I've only had a play in both so can't really speak to either as an ownership proposition.

The M6 I've wanted for some time but I just can't bring myself to trust it with regards to the gearbox - especially given the mileage I do. I'd constantly be wondering when the red cog will appear.
The CLS63 has one of my favorite engines of all time, mental amounts of torque at pretty much any RPM, and some of my favorite seats ever. I love the styling too, quirky.
My ML63 lunched it's gearbox, apparently not so common, but the bill was still approaching 5 figures - warranty job thankfully.

I like my CLS 500. I am sort of tempted by the CLS 63 as my next car. Or the Jag XKRS.

Funnily enough I saw a V12 badged CL drive past yesterday. There is something very appealing about big 12!
